Maybe this isn’t a fashion topic in the truest sense but I am going with fashion for my home. What I am missing now, during COVID-19, is the colour I see when I travel. Whether or not you realize it, colour is a huge part of our psychological makeup. We have emotional reactions when seeing red in a vibrant pepper at a food market in Thailand, or blue in the hues of Iceland’s Blue Lagoon , or purple that is associated with royalty while taking in the history and pageantry of London, U.K.
Are you the person that wants to bring home a little part of your trip?
People have said they can tell so much about me with the way I have decorated my house. One of the places I keep on going back to is Hawaii. The Aloha Spirit, Beaches, the Outdoors, Diversity… I could go on and on! Every time I go to Maui; I somehow bring back one of these pictures from a fun store in Paia called Indigo. The pictures are taken by the incredible Daniel Sullivan. Number one because they all have my favourite colour in them: ORANGE!
And, number two, it’s reminds me of my visit to India on a bucket list trip combined with celebrating a milestone birthday. India is a destination where you either really want to go or you don’t. You’ll experience huge culture shock, troubles with your tummy, and encounter such chaos!
BUT, you will find some of the kindest and most hospitable people in all your travels, have your breath taken away viewing one of the seven wonders of the world: the Taj Majal, delicious food, and see how religion and spirituality are woven in everyday life.
A trip to India is full of the unexpected but one thing’s certain: you won’t return home quite the same!
