This isn’t your run-of-the-mill traditional eggnog but delicious Jamaican eggnog or as some people like to call it Caribbean eggnog. Y’all know anything from the Caribbean just tastes better!
With the holiday season right around the corner, it’s time to start making all our favourite holiday cocktails that we only drink during December.
Eggnog is one of those cocktails that you absolutely love or hate. There is no in-between!
If you will be entertaining this holiday season, try serving up this recipe for Jamaican eggnog. I spent many Christmases in Jamaica and the Caribbean eggnog had a different flavour and was slightly sweeter.
Before serving, top off with a sprinkle of nutmeg and a cinnamon stick. Remember to serve chilled. Enjoy!!!
YIELD: 6 – 8 Servings

Next, in a large saucepan, on medium heat, add the whole milk and heavy cream. Bring to a light steam (do not overheat or allow to boil).
Slowly pour the warm milk into the mixing bowl on low speed. Once well combined, whisk until smooth.
Lastly, add the rum and bourbon, vanilla, spices and vanilla ice cream. Whisk on medium speed for 2 minutes. From the mixing bowl, strain into the serving pitcher. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Serve cold.
NOTES
The Jamaican eggnog recipe calls to make it the day beforehand. This allows the flavours and the alcohol to blend before serving!
