Enjoy Easy Access to Vancouver
The Port of Vancouver and Vancouver International Airport are located about 16 kilometres apart, which takes roughly 30 minutes to drive. Once you’ve landed in Vancouver, it’s an easy bus, Sky Train (26 minutes) or car ride to the cruise port terminal.

Vancouver is the perfect city to start or end a journey to Alaska. Lauded for its captivating cityscapes, sprawling green spaces, and diverse population, Vancouver is a worthwhile destination for any modern explorer.

In Stanley Park, spend the afternoon walking or biking along the city’s stunning seawall with an awe-inspiring sunset at Third Beach. Visit one of the largest waterfalls in the province and ride a gondola over the gorgeous Howe Sound to see the best of Vancouver’s nature. Explore the city’s trendy Gastown district and grab dim sum in Chinatown. Art and history buffs can spend their days visiting one of the city’s renowned museums, like the Museum of Anthropology, the Bill Reid Gallery, and the Museum of Vancouver.

On disembarkation day, you can even book a shore excursion that takes you on a tour of Vancouver before dropping you off at the airport.

No matter what your preferences are, spending a few extra days in Vancouver before or after your Alaska cruise is the perfect addition to your vacation.

Our round-trip cruise itinerary from Vancouver is designed to showcase some of Alaska’s most scenic vistas and exciting adventures.

I would recommend checking out the shore excursions and book in advance. Shore excursions are the perfect way to discover any destination, granting in-depth knowledge, expertise, and a truly extraordinary experience.

The benefits of booking ship-sponsored tours are many. You can skip the hassle of arranging your own onshore activities, you’ll know the tour provider is licensed and reputable, and the ship won’t depart until all of its tour buses have returned — even the tardy ones.

After departing from Vancouver, you’ll spend the second day sailing through the awe-inspiring Inside Passage, where you’ll spot eagles, whales, and bears in the midst of vast fjords and rugged Alaskan islands. Soak in the stunning vistas from the ship’s deck or from your stateroom’s private veranda.

On day three, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Glacier Bay National Park on a thrilling helicopter ride, board a high-speed cruise where we hope to see whales, learn more about the Tlingit people and their culture and cuisine. The following day, sail along Hubbard Glacier, where you’ll marvel at the continent’s largest tidewater glacier that measures 122 kilometres long and 11 kilometres wide.

At your next stop, Juneau, hike the extraordinary Mendenhall Glacier, hop in a seaplane and soar over local glaciers, explore Stephens Passage and spot wildlife with a naturalist photographer, or board a luxury catamaran and feast on local seafood while seeing humpback whales up close.

In Ketchikan, try your hand at saltwater fishing and learn how to prepare your catch of the day on a remote beach, walk through the Alaskan rainforest and see sea lions lounging on jagged rocks, or zipline over a lush rainforest canopy. On the way back to Vancouver, you’ll cruise through the breathtaking Inside Passage once more, giving you a final look at Alaska’s unforgettable vistas.

Is it safe to cruise?
There’s close to 100% vaccination on board almost all major cruise line ships, as well as testing, both at levels that far exceed environments people encounter at home during everyday life, like visits to the supermarket or attendance at concerts or sports events.
