Travel at the best of times can leave travellers fraught with stress. From worrying about connections and flights to booking hotels, airport transfers and getting your currency ready, it can be a bit of a minefield. Once you throw the complex Covid-19 testing requirement into the mix, there’s actually quite a lot of work that needs to be done before we can truly relax, unwind and enjoy our well-deserved, well-earned vacations.
Thankfully though, not every destination requires a Covid test if you’re vaccinated. These select few destinations are bound to offer travellers a more stress-free travel experience compared to those that do, with one less thing to worry about. Here’s a look at stress free, no testing travel destinations that vaccinated travellers can take advantage of.
France
The country of love, fashion and fancy food, entry to France for vaccinated Canadian travellers is almost as stress free as it gets. By simply having proof of vaccination and waiting the appropriate length of time after your final dose to travel, along with a sworn declaration that you don’t have Covid-19 and haven’t been in contact with anyone who does, you will be able to enter and enjoy all the country has to offer.
Greece
A winter getaway to Greece will be just the tonic for many travellers – and their Covid-19 travel requirements will make entry a breeze. Along with completing a Passenger Locator Form before arrival, proof of vaccination is all you’ll need to enter the country.
Panama
Entry to Panama is extremely simple for travellers at present. Simply show proof of vaccination – alongside an Electronic Health Affidavit – and you’ll be able to enter the country and enjoy its various parks, beaches and – of course – its famous canal.
Mexico
Mexico has long been a favorite destination for Canadian travellers. From cities steeped in culture to vast beaches behind crystal clear seas, Mexico has a lot to offer – and it’s all accessible without the need to take a Covid-19 test to enter.
Dominican Republic
A jewel of the Caribbean, entry to the Dominican Republic is extremely easy and stress free. Vaccinated travellers don’t need to be tested for Covid-19, but must complete the free electronic entry and exit form, which combines the Traveller’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. After that, the country is yours to enjoy.
St. Maarten
I am planning to visit the Dutch island for the Reading Week break February 2022. St. Maarten updated its entry rules to be extra simple for vaccinated travellers. Starting November 1, 2021, those who are fully vaccinated will no longer need a negative test to enter St. Maarten, making it one of the easiest destinations in the Caribbean to visit this winter.
