Though it’s likely been a while since you last stayed at a fancy hotel, I bet you remember that feeling of when you first step into your room. Those sweet-scented toiletries, the quiet coffeemaker and those way-too-comfy slippers. And man, what is it about hotel bedding that just does something to you?
I can’t say for certain what it is that makes those sheets feel so special, but whatever it is, we can relive the experience on our own beds. Thankfully, several hotel brands have launched online stores where you can buy a lot of the room decor that their properties are decked in.
And in these still uncertain travel times, that may be the best way to escape.
Marriott Hotel Towels and Mattresses
The Marriott Chain offers their towels for sale, with a six-piece towel set in a crisp, white hue. The popular set includes two bath towels, two hand towels and two washcloths in a soft and fluffy finish.
Mattresses
“That Days Inn mattress felt like a bed of feathers!” said absolutely no one ever. But how about a bed from Marriott or a Waldorf Bed (with five cushioning comfort zones and lower back support) from Hilton? Those beds are incredibly comfortable, and they should be—some of them cost thousands of dollars. If you had the best night’s sleep of your life on one, though, you might be inclined to shell out the extra dough. Luckily for you, many hotel chains sell their beds directly online.
The W South Beach Robe
My Miami trip from a few years ago is a blur of fun, beautiful weather, and a vibe like no other. But even in the haze of recollection there is one trip highlight that I still remember—the W Hotel’s super plush robe. Sure, you’ve had warm robes before but there’s something about this Boca Terry number that makes the robe presently hanging in your bathroom feel inadequate. Made with plush polyester, deep pockets and a handy hood, it’s the perfect wardrobe piece for a Saturday morning at the W or a lazy Tuesday in your own home.
Adare Manor, Adare, Ireland
Set in the pristine countryside of County Limerick on Ireland’s west coast, Adare Manor offers a peaceful getaway set among picturesque landscapes and rolling hills. Now, travellers can bring a piece of Ireland into their home with the hotel’s online boutique. From home decor items to golfing essentials, the shop has everything you need to recreate your trip to the historical manor in your own home. The Adare Manor Candle is the perfect gift as it’s the same candle the hotel uses throughout the property, easily transforming any space to a relaxing retreat.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Lake Como, Italy
A memorable trip to Italy in 2015 and falling love with Lake Como. Especially the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, one of the oldest luxury properties located on the banks of the famed Italian lake that offers stunning views of Bellagio and the Grigne mountains.
Named after the wind that blows in the Venetian lagoon, these Murano glasses created by Carlo Moretti are the perfect vessels for your preferred chilled drink that will make you reminisce about your last visit to one of Italy’s most iconic sights.
Unfortunately, our trip didn’t include a glimpse of George Clooney, a local resident. Maybe next time!
The Fairmont
The Fairmont has properties in some of the most scenic spots around the world—from the lakefront Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Canada to the impressive Mara Safari Club located in the renowned Maasai Mara Game Reserve, home to the great wildebeest migration.
And if you’ve been to any Fairmont property, you’ve probably found yourself at some point enjoying the views with a hot drink in hand. This luxury tea sampler that reminds me of Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont. It features six different tea varieties (Creamy Earl Grey, Imperial Breakfast, Kyushu Japan Sencha, Egyptian Camomile, Oregon Mint, and Floras Berry Garden) crafted exclusively for the company by the Metropolitan Tea Company.
