What a better place to spend the Christmas holidays than in Barbados. Staying near Mullins Beach in a vacation rental; we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. The opportunity to indulge in delicious fare from street food to fine dining. We rented a car for our stay and explored the historic landmarks like St. Nicholas Abbey. If you enjoy rum, rum distilleries make for a great day as well. Having close access to Mullins Beach was one of the highlights. Nice sand beaches, surprising amount of shade to hide in and a calm sea ideal for swimming or wading. Handy to have Adrian’s Shack to buy drinks and lunch. You can also rent seadoos and banana boat rides.
I discovered Tiyi By Design by chance while wandering around Speightstown. In my two times to Barbados, I always visit this jewellery store with its one of a kind, hand crafted pieces. I’ve picked up a few mementos of my trips here. I have been fortunate to meet the owner and designer. Getting to know Ichia was finding out she created her name. Ichia is an acronym, it means I Come Here In Ama. Ama is our Universal Mother. Brilliant!
