A little sunshine, a taste of Mexico, and a cultural experience I’m looking forward to discovering.

I’m heading to Huatulco, Mexico, and there’s something particularly special happening during my visit!

On October 31, Huatulco will come alive with the Xandú Festival, a celebration inspired by one of Mexico’s most meaningful traditions: Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

This is far more than a colourful event on the calendar. It’s an opportunity to experience the culture, creativity and community spirit that make Mexico such a fascinating destination.

Picture a vibrant Catrina parade, elaborate themed floats, and a gathering of local hotels, associations and community members, all coming together to honour this beloved tradition. Dreams Huatulco and Secrets Huatulco will both participate in the festivities, with the celebrations culminating in a gastronomic showcase at Parque Guelaguetza.

For travellers, experiences like these offer a wonderful perspective beyond the resort. They invite us to connect with the destination, discover local traditions and appreciate the stories and people that bring a place to life.

As I prepare to experience Huatulco, I’m looking forward to discovering how this cultural celebration adds another dimension to a destination already known for its beautiful Pacific coastline, warm hospitality and relaxed Mexican charm.

I’ll be sharing more from my visit, including my experiences at Dreams Huatulco and Secrets Huatulco, so stay tuned!

Because great travel is about more than where you stay. It’s about what you discover along the way.

Follow along as I explore Huatulco. Your next Mexican escape might offer more than you expect.
